Logistics
The deployment of the first lockers and drop-off units in March 2026 marks the beginning of a multi-year collaboration between Bloq.it and Evri. The agreement forms part of a multi-million-pound investment to modernize Evri’s out-of-home delivery infrastructure, increase parcel accessibility, and enhance the returns experience across the UK.
Challenge
Evri’s locker usage is up 343% in 2025, with parcel diversions rising 20%, and more than 50% of UK adults now buying or selling pre-loved small-sized items every year, signalling a sustained shift in consumer behaviour. As parcel volumes grow, scaling a nationwide locker network introduces operational and technical complexity, requiring a solution that enables rapid expansion and seamless system integration.
Beyond hardware, the project required a holistic approach, from modular configurations tailored to parcel mix, to a drop-off solution that simplifies returns and optimizes the experience for C2C shipments. At the same time, deployment needed to remain efficient and cost-effective.

The partnership
At the core of the partnership between Evri and Bloq.it is the delivery of an integrated, scalable and future-proof smart locker solution designed to support long-term growth.
Bloq.it is providing a complete end-to-end ecosystem for Evri’s UK operations. This includes NEXT smart lockers, alongside both the standalone drop and the integrated drop-off solution configuration. The solution is supported by embedded firmware, seamless API integrations and full deployment and maintenance services.
“We have an ambitious plan to significantly expand our ParcelShop and Locker network, and are committed to offering greater delivery choices for the consumers, retail clients, and businesses that we serve. This major multi-million-pound investment will establish one of the UK’s largest pick-up, drop-off networks in the UK. Our expanding network of locations is shaping the future of parcel delivery in the UK with smart technology and greater accessibility, and Bloq.it is a great partner to help scale it.” — Liam Rogan, Head of Out of Home at Evri

The product
Evri is the first operator to implement both the standalone drop and the integrated drop-off option in the NEXT configuration, setting a new benchmark for flexibility across its OOH network.
The modular NEXT lockers feature an integrated drop-off module tailored to Evri’s parcel volume profile to ensure optimal space utilization and operational efficiency. API-driven integration with Evri’s internal systems guarantees continuity across collection, returns, and network management workflows.
Alongside the integrated configuration, the standalone drop introduces additional flexibility to the network, creating a hybrid network able to fit in smaller locations. Designed with a dedicated letter compartment tailored specifically to Evri’s requirements, it expands the range of items that can be securely deposited while maintaining a consistent user experience.

Looking ahead
As the rollout continues, customers will benefit from a faster, more intuitive 24/7 parcel collection and returns experience, expanding out-of-home coverage and delivery flexibility. Bloq.it’s integrated hardware and software streamline operations, reduce failed deliveries, and improve last-mile efficiency.
The national rollout is set to accelerate, with additional deployments planned across the UK in major nationwide partners, Tesco, Motor Fuel Group and East of England Co-Op.
